Reports are still coming in as to the extent of the damage to ORACLE Team USA's '17', however there were apparently no serious injuries to the crew.

The 72ft catamaran pitchpoled (read previous report here), and it is believed to have capsized slowly after bearing away and going through the so-called 'death zone' as the boat accelerates quickly in the transition from upwind and downwind sailing.

It is expected that the wingsail will be extensively damaged during the tow ashore.
